Why Play Therapy?
Play therapy follows a child centred approach, allowing children to express themselves in a safe and open environment. Children often can’t find the words to explain how they are feeling inside, but play is a nurturing way to unlock their inner emotions.
Children build a relationship with their therapist and explore parts of the playroom such as the sand tray, puppets, art materials, role play and many other toys. Play therapy can be beneficial for children with emotional or behavioural needs or who have suffered trauma such as bereavement, neglect, loss or abuse.
